About this bike

Concorde was a Dutch brand. It was created in the 70's  by Veltec, a trading company in bicycles and bicycle accessories. A lot of people always thought that it was an Italian brand but thats not the case here, although some of their frames were indeed Italian designed ( by Pellizoti). The frames of higher quality often came from Italy, they were either produced by Billato or Ciocc. The paintwork of the frames was done in Belgium.

From 1986 to 1992 they even Sponsored the well-known Concorde PDM team.  In 1987, Pedro Delgado was second in the Tour de France on a PDM Concorde bike. Also Steven Rooks and Gert-Jan Theunisse rode fore PDM-Concorde.

This concorde Astore is an very well preserved example of this Dutch-English-Belgium collaboration. In the Concorde hierarchy this was the real workhorse. The frame was made out of sturdy Italian columbus Chromor tubes and decked out with a reliable Shimano 600 groupset. The bike is still in a good condition. The chrome is perfect, paint has some scratches here and there but for its age it's pretty ok. The group and wheelset are also still in a very good condition. Reliable bike for everday use.
