About this bike

Edoardo Bianchi started building bikes in his Milanese factory in 1886, aged 21. Orphaned as an infant, Bianchi begun work, aged eight, in an iron works and eventually opened a two-room workshop of his own, producing all manner of items, from surgical instruments to electrical doorbells, before eventually moving on to cars and motorcycles. Initially trading in penny farthings, Edoardo eventually concentrated on bicycles once he began to experiment with less unwieldy designs.

His big breaktrough came in 1939, when Edoardo adopted Tullio Campagnolo's new gearing system, the Cambio Corsa derailleur. Operated with a rod, it enabled cyclists to change gears while in motion – far more preferable to the previous system, which required riders to dismount and flip the wheel around. By then Bianchi was already selling 70,000 bikes a year but the Cambio Corsa meant sales boomed, although it helped that Bianchi then signed perhaps the most revered cyclist of all.

Several brilliant riders from the modern era have used Bianchi, like Jan Ullrich, Mario Cipollini or Marco Pantani, But nobody is more closely associated with the brand than Fausto Coppi, the brilliant Il Campionissimo (or Champion of Champions), who dominated road racing after the Second World War.

The Bianchi TSX Reparto Corse was one of the top models in the Bianchi hierarchy, in the 90's. It was probably on of the best bikes that money could buy. On this same model Cipollini rode in 1993 as you can see in the picture!

The bike itself is still  in a  good condition. It belonged to a former pro, who was also the first owner.  It has almost no visible damages except some small paint flaws, chrome is also in a very good condition. The frame itself is made out of sturdy Columbus TSX tubes. Besides of that has it been equipped with the last generation of the legendary Campagnolo Record groupset. Another surplus is that the bike has been painted in the typical Bianchi colour, the so called Celeste. . The chance that you will find another gem like this one is almost none., Grab your chance!
