Batavus Professional Ex-KNWU team bike

About this bike

From 1986 to 1992, Batavus was the official bike supplier/sponsor for the Royal Dutch Cycling Union (KNWU). This bike is one of those and was used by a former pro from the National dutch team (KNWU)that was was sponsored by AMEV back in the 90's.

It is equipped with a full Sachs New Success group which is pretty rare, especially in this condition. The Sachs New Success group was a well designed, well constructed and well finished piece of equipment - but Sachs was just not a fashionable name in the peleton - and thus it did not sell. The parts were contract made from companies all over europe. The cranks were made by campagnolo, the brakes by Modolo and the derailleurs were their own design and also sold as part of the EDCO Group.

The frame itself is made out of sturdy columbus SL tubes and has a race number holder, which also indicates that this is the real deal. Hopefully it finds a good home. This is a premium quality bike with a nice (hi)story attached to it.
