Concorde Aquila SLX 1993

About this bike

Concorde was a Dutch brand.  Somewhere around 1970 it was put on the market by Veltec, a company trading in bicycles and bicycle accessories. A lot of people always thought that it was an Italian brand but thats not the case, although their design was indeed Italian ( Mr. Pellizoti).  The frames of higher quality often came from Italy, they were either produced by Billato or Ciocc. The paintwork of the frames was done in Belgium.

From 1986 to 1992 they even Sponsored the well-known Concorde PDM team.  In 1987, Pedro Delgado was second in the Tour de France on a PDM Concorde bike. Also Steven Rooks and Gert-Jan Theunisse rode fore PDM-Concorde.

This concorde Aquila is an very well preserved example of this Dutch-italian-Belgium collaboration. In the Concorde hierarchy this was the top of the bill. Exactly these frames were used by the PDM team. The frame itself is made out of sturdy Italian columbus new SLX tubes and decked out with a the last generation of the Dura Ace 7400 group group, the 7410. The paintjob on this bike is spectacular and a typical 90's design . The chance that you will find another one is almost none. The bike is in a very good condition. The chrome is perfect, paint has some scratches ( especially the non-drive side. The groupset is in a almost knew condition and technically perfect ( New old stock). The tires, handlebar tape and all the cables are renewed.
