About this bike

For sale is this beautiful Alan Corsa Super Record that l Bought from the first owner. Alan was founded in Italy by Falconi Lodovico. The name ALAN is a composition of the names of his son ALberto and his daughter ANnamaria. It also stands for ALuminium ANodised.

The company, founded in 1972, has a history of innovation, bringing lightweight aluminum cyclocross and road frames and forks to the market in a time when steel was king, and racers flocked to the lugged models to save weight and have a more comfortable ride. It was one of the first manufacturers who were able to build aluminium road bikes. ALAN is best known for it's lugged aluminium bicycle frames, which are connected together by screwed or glued lugs

This particular Alan is probably a very early one.  The pat. number of the campagnolo rear derailleur is 74, and it also hasn't top tube cable guides which were a typical feature for the Alan's produced in the early 70's. This beautiful Alan is completely equiped with the best group they had to offer in the 70's; Campagnolo Nuovo record. The wheelset are beautifull mavic rims laced to Campagnolo Record hubs.  A real unique piece of Italian bike history..
